Grief and Loss

Loss is a universal experience that we all must deal with at some point in our lives. Grieving the loss of a loved one can be overwhelming, and life-changing. Dealing with the unbearable pain of losing someone is a lifelong process. There is no "right way" to grieve. Often, others around us don't know what to say or do in times of unimaginable anguish. Sometimes we simply need someone to be present as we grieve. It is important to understand that your grieving process is unique to you.

Nothing can take away the enormity of the loss of a loved one. However, talking with a counselor can be helpful in providing you with support, presence, and ideas to help you cope with your loss.

We also can experience loss in other ways in our lives. Loss of a relationship, loss of a pet, and job loss are just a few of the many others ways that we can be impacted by loss.
