With over 30 years of dedicated experience in the mental health field, I bring a depth of understanding and compassion to my practice. As a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Nationally Certified Counselor, my journey has been rich and rewarding. Currently, I am expanding my expertise even further as a PhD candidate in Counselor Education. My training encompasses a diverse range of therapeutic techniques, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). This comprehensive skill set allows me to adapt to your unique needs, ensuring that the therapy we engage in is as individual as you are. Our journey together is collaborative. You are an integral part of deciding which approaches resonate most with you. Whether it's one specific method or a blend of several, our goal is to find the path that best supports your healing and growth. With 20 years of experience working within the field of mental health, I am able to provide individualized counseling using a variety of approaches for grief and loss, trauma, relationship issues, life stressors, anxiety, depression, life transitions, women's issues, and work-life balance. I provide a safe, nonjudgmental space for you to share your thoughts, worries, feelings, and goals, and I consider myself to be your ally and advocate in your journey. I believe in meeting you where you are, and working together to clarify where you want to be. I make an effort to help you identify your strengths, and to find ways to challenge negative thinking and patterns that can interfere with your goals. Most importantly, I believe in the resilience that we all have within us that allows us to weather the storms, experiencing and acknowledging the pain, and finding a path forward. It is a privilege to be a part of your journey.

I am currently accepting new clients; however, if you prefer in-person appointments, please note that my office is now located in Blacksburg, VA. This change does not affect telehealth sessions.
